RSPCA Huddersfield - About Us

We are an independent charity and receive no financial aid from Government, Local Authority or the National Society. Our policy is to rehome animals with loving and caring new owners, help those of limited means with veterinary care for their pets and actively promote neutering to prevent unwanted litters of cats, dogs and rabbits and microchipping to assist owners to be reunited with their lost pets. We do NOT destroy healthy animals.

The National Society

The National Society fund the inspectors and animal collection officers (ACOs), special operations unit (SOU), prosecutions, campaigns, lobbying government, press office and national fund raising schemes. The Society is managed by a Council of up to 25 members elected by the membership who decide upon policies strategy and governance matters and the staff are headed by the Chief Executive. We are the largest and most prestigious animal welfare charity in Europe (and probably the world) and our mission is to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate suffering of all animals by all lawful means.
